Synopsis
“Dr. Samuel Hahnemann was summoned to the White House today! Obama urgently seeking help with the health care crisis”- The Washington Post.
Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. A physician, chemist, linguist, historian of medicine and scientific revolutionary. Early in his career, Hahnemann became so disillusioned with the state of medicine that he stopped practicing, in the firm belief that the methods he was taught did more harm than good. For the next 60 years, he developed and perfected a form of medical treatment that is affordable, does not hurt the environment, and claims to cure many diseases – both acute and chronic. Could this be the perfect solution to our modern day dilemma? If only Hahnemann hadn’t died in 1843.
But there’s hope. The system of medicine he founded is Homeopathy. Today, there are hundreds of practicing homeopaths in the US alone, who follow the methods that Hahnemann developed over two centuries ago.
The United States is currently in a devastating health care crisis. There are at least 45.8 million Americans who are uninsured and can’t afford proper care. People are suffering, the economy is suffering and everyone is looking for a solution. Homeopathy provides an inexpensive and effective alternative.
For those who can’t afford healthcare, homeopathy provides access. For people with chronic illnesses, it provides relief. For diseases like autism for which there is yet no cure, it provides hope. For those in the conventional medical field, the film can expand their clinical options.
No one watching this film will come away unchanged. It will deepen our understanding of the mind/body connection and challenge how we look at illness, medicine, and even the world itself.
Note from filmmaker:
While my former films Twitch and Shout, The Jew in the Lotus, Twisted, and Touched helped raise awareness and changed attitudes, this film will not only educate. but could potentially save lives. And for all of you who might be skeptical about homeopathy, I ask you to believe in me as a filmmaker, and believe in the importance of telling a true story, even if it challenges conventional medicine notions of what is and isn’t possible. Homeopathy was invented over 200 years ago, and it is still being practiced all over the world. Isn’t that worth looking at?
