Samuel Hahnemann, a German, was the founder of homeopathy in the 1800's. The film brings him alive with animation. In this animation, we briefly tell the story of Hahnemann's first "a-ha" moment while translating a medical text from English to German. From this experiment that he did on himself, he went on to develop the "Law of Similars"-- substances that cause healthy people to get symptoms can cure diseases that have similar symptoms. This became the foundation of homeopathy.
This is a rough sketch of the animation. We are still experimenting with various styles -- this is not necessarily the style we will use, but gives a taste of the tone, and of his character. Added note: our animator Max Rubin, had autism as a young boy, was treated with homeopathy, and is now "neuro-normal" and in film school at USC. His mother Amy Lansky wrote a book inspired by their experience. Impossible Cure: The Promise of Homeopathy.
